Actualmente, es director de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/belonging.berkeley.edu\/\">el Instituto de Alteridad y Pertenencia de la Universidad de California<\/a>, en Berkeley, donde tambi\u00e9n ense\u00f1a Derecho y Estudios Afroamericanos.<\/p>\n<p>powell es conocido por su teor\u00eda de la Alteridad, que describe el proceso de marginalizaci\u00f3n de grupos sociales.
