The International Congress of Educating Cities, which will be held in Granollers from 26 to 29 May 2026, has received 185 experiences from all over the world. Specifically, these proposals have arrived from 95 cities, from 16 countries, with the aim of being selected to be presented at the CongressThe figure could still grow, a little more, in the coming weeks.

The experiences come from cities such as Seoul (South Korea), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Brussels (Belgium), Bologna (Italy), Katowice (Poland), Lisbon (Portugal), Sao Paolo (Brazil), Montevideo (Uruguay), Caguas (Puerto Rico), Medellín (Colombia) and Maputo (Mozambique). There is also a large representation of municipalities in Catalonia and other parts of Spain.

All these experiences, which have been presented by town councils and municipal institutions, have to do with the three axes that will be discussed to the Congress: social cohesion (with 85 experiences), critical thinking (with 40) and creativity (with 60). Of all of them, city projects with a clear educational vocation will be valued.

In the coming months, the Scientific Committee of the Congress will have to make the final choice of these experiences, which choose to be present in Granollers with one of the different modalities. Around 45 proposals will be presented through "Workshops", 40 through "Direct Dialogues" and around twenty through the "Posters" modality.

The selection process will take into account, for example, that the experience provides solutions to social problems, that it is aimed at vulnerable groups, that it has a proven social impact, or that it can be applied to other municipalities, among many other criteria.

One of the attractions of the International Congress is, precisely, to discover and share these experiences among the 500 cities that are part of theInternational Association of Educating Cities.
