Commissions
The committees are open to all those people who voluntarily want to participate in the design, preparation and development of the projects that were decided in a first phase of the open participation process that took place from November 2024 to February 2025.
The working committees of the second phase are the following:
1- City Congress – 500
2- Youth Congress
3- Projects
4- Neighborhoods – Preparation and city setting activities and social events (May 2026)

THE OPPORTUNITIES
In this Commission we want to observe all the opportunities that holding the International Congress in our city can offer us. And we will also observe what has changed since the moment we were designated as the host of the 2026 Congress.
We will talk about the types of opportunities: educational, cultural, social..., and the areas that may be affected and the possible impacts. And we will make significant proposals that we will have to link to each of the opportunities.
And if possible, we will think about the "legacy" that Congress should leave in the city, in the region.
THE TOPIC: THE AXES OF THE CONGRESS
“EDUCATION and CULTURE: strategies for building a CITY/COMMUNITY, and developing a CRITICAL and CREATIVE citizenship”
We will reflect on how this COMMUNITY, this "WE" is built in our city and what are the programs, services and projects that aim to promote critical and creative citizenship.
We will observe which agents, institutions, entities are responsible for these actions. We will draw up a list of experiences that we can share with the Scientific Committee and that can also be “study visits” for the congress participants.
And we will make proposals to generate new actions in the city and the region towards the axes proposed by the Congress.
CITY-CONGRESS // CONGRESS-CITY // COMMUNICATION
We want the city to experience the Congress intensely and well before May 2026. And at the same time, we want the congress participants who come from all over the world to experience the city, to feel it.
We will talk about all the ways to participate, to be part of the Congress, for the citizens of Granollers.
And the ways in which congress participants will be able to fully experience the city. We will have to define the various MOMENTS. The most significant agents: schools, organizations, local commerce...
And we will propose ACTIONS that must take place in the “CONFERENCE CENTRE” and actions that must take place in the STREETS and SQUARES of the city.
And we will also have to make proposals to COMMUNICATE, to EXPLAIN to the people of Granollerin, the CONGRESS. And to the congressmen, the CITY.
YOUNG
Creating a youth driving group for the Congress aims to encourage their active participation in issues related to education and urban development, promote their leadership and commitment in building a city for all, and facilitate their voice in decisions that affect their city.
In addition, it helps to strengthen the youth community, exchange innovative ideas and motivate more young people to get involved in projects that contribute to the future and well-being of their city.
FORUMS
We will have to prepare MODELS of participation to ensure global and inclusive participation. We must avoid any kind of exclusion.
We will agree on basic pedagogical references. We will design work strategies for each forum. And we will think about what the spaces should be like so that they are completely adequate.
We will think about and propose spaces for interaction with the congress participants. We will have to think about the processes to finally have a document that captures the meaning of all the contributions. This document from each forum will form part of the final Declaration of the Congress.
In the case of the Children's Forum, we want to take the opportunity to pay tribute and recognition to Francesco Tonucci. We will have to think about how we want to do it. Actions.
