IAEC Congress

Topic

One topic, three axes.

To decide what the theme of the Congress and its axes should be, we first raised some of the challenges that our cities face today.

01 FIRST CHALLENGE

Its complexity of citiesCities are increasingly diverse and plural. They contain more communities within them. NWe need inclusion policies so that no one is left out and everyone can continue building the community that includes us all, the city itself.

02 SECOND CHALLENGE

Polarized societiesWith little critical capacity to deal with overwhelming information and an avalanche of messages that move through the networks and operate with the will to create Manichean scenarios: mine and others. It is more necessary than ever to promote new scenarios and above all new actions that promote training to develop critical thinking, capable of making us truly free.

03 THIRD CHALLENGE

The general public is little aware of their cultural "needs" and above all of their creative capacities. Creativity is understood by many as something alien, that has nothing to do with them. A Creativity absolutely necessary to generate social talent. A creative citizenship, to have more resources and strategies and be in a better position to face the challenges of the future.

Finally, we have developed the proposal that we present to you with the title:

“EDUCATION AND CULTURE IN THE CITY: COMMUNITY, CRITICAL SENSE AND CREATIVITY”

The 3

The axes that we will observe are the following:

1 First axis

The construction of the city / community in increasingly complex cities. The construction of a “WE” that defines the feeling of free belonging to “our” city. The city of all.

2 Second axis

The development of a critical and free citizenship to participate in the construction of the future of cities. Training and promotion of CRITICAL THINKING to acquire tools against sectarianism, populist discourses, and information manipulations.

3 Third axis

The development of a creative citizenry that has strategies and tools to face the challenges of their society.
